SAUCE at FMX 2019

FMX 2019 - Tools of Tomorrow: Light Fields
The Tools of Tomorrow track - curated by Volker Helzle, Head of Research and Development, Animationsinstitut at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, is dedicated to Light Fields this year.
Exciting new possibilities and associated challenges will be discussed by the software and hardware innovators of this area. This new technology will impact the industry with entirely new camera hardware and a whole new world of possibilities in post-production. LightFields provide the potential to virtually use physically impossible camera lenses, remove green screen usage in VFX and many more - can we unlock this potential now?

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thorsten Herfet (Saarland University), Simon Spielmann (FABW), Jonas Trottnow (FABW) will talk Light Fields for Movie Productions : exploring the possibilities and challenges of integrating lightfield capture into movie production is one aspect of the EU funded project SAUCE. The production Unfolding uses new technologies to generate an innovative trailer for a traditional music festival. Learnings and challenges of this joint effort between partners and especially Saarland University and Filmakademie will be discussed during the talk.
