UPF Chromatic Adaptations

Despite the presence of ambient lighting being commonplace in the viewing environments of content viewers and production professionals alike, the degree to which it impacts our colour perception of images is unknown. In response to this problem, UPF IP4EC have conducted a series of psychophysical experiments where observers perform a colour correction tasks so that we can gain insight on their perception as a function of their viewing conditions. The experiment made use of two ARRI skypanel LED lights which could be controlled to produce a wide range of colors from the experimental presentation code.

"The persistent influence of chromatic ambient illumination" was recently accepted at London Imaging Meeting from 6th - 7th April
